Complaining about an ele preview skill because it teleports you to the opponent?
WHAT?
Assassins have an ENTIRE.ATTRIBUTE dedicated to shadow stepping...

I really see no problem with this skill at all, though because of the fact that its elite, and all ele skills are way overpriced, it will be very hard to part with ether prodigy, but who knows, and why again would warriors give up there elite slot for this? There are already plenty of assasin skills like this that work better for melee classes.

Teleport to target foe. That foe is struck for xx lightning damage.
from a pretty reliiiiable source, I'd say it sounds pretty sexy.

hmm if this is true then that 3 second casting time will kill off any RtL Eles, wars and what have you... 1 ranger or even a Mesmer means that any RtL ele would get interupted insanly easy, take 1 ranger, versus a RtL team, when my rangers set up for interupting he can probably pack about 3-4 interupts, so all he has to do is watch one of the eles since there probably spike there doing the 3-2-1 SPIKE idea, so all the interupt has to do is interupt ele, switch to next ele, interupt, switch, interupt ,switch... boom RtL spikers are unable to get there spike off, add in another ranger and distracting shot shuts off 2 eles from ever being able to use the skill for 20 seconds,

imagine a team of 8 A/Es, all with ride the lightning, they teleport into the hall, then.. assassinate the guild lord. it might not work but would look friggin cool
EDIT: or looking at things, they could just all use deaths charge etc

You only need one person teleporting into the guild hall, then he can open the gate for the rest to enter.

What if it uses Line of Sight? Similar to bow attacks, you'd see a arc of lightning to your target, that way, you'd still be able to hide behind walls and use terrain.
Also, nothing ever mentioned the cast range, is it a just the agro-bubble range or full radar range? A lot of stuff could be waaay off from the current speculations.

I used the Ele teleporter pbAoE template in the preview event, and really, the .75 second aftercast on all spells makes teleport spells less useful than they would seem, for offensive purposes at least. By the time you can get off your followup spell, nearly 2 seconds have passed, which is plenty for someone to just step away from you out of the radius of the pbAoE that is surely coming from an Ele that just appeared in front of you.
And why would a warrior use this, taking up his elite slot, when he/she can just sprint and get to his target in that 3 second cast time?

Well, you can't sprint through solid object, but then again nobody yet knows if you will be able to "ride the lightning" through solid objects...

RTW has 20 sec recharge, is 15 nrg, and will most likely cuase exhaustion. For the record there are better skills than slightning touch to that damage, like lightning orb/lightning strike. Seeing as RTL is an elite, i think W/E with it may be ineffective, and as a spiking technique, i dont think it wil be over powered. Prot Spirit will still make it next to useless.

You know "ride the lightning" was originally a slang term for being executed in an electric chair. Metallica, while cool, didn't invent the term. Why do you think there's an electric chair on the cover of the album?
GW is full of references: "None shall pass", "Rodgort", "Victory is Mine", "For Great Justice", etc.

Ya'll forgetting something about ele short-range burst spells. They all have stupid delay after use. For about a second, you stand there frozen like a lemon. There is no way you getting more than 2 spikes off with that still in place. I really hope they remove this pause...
Still. RTL sounds too cool . Really love the idea of zapping all over the place like a true wizard.
"Only mortals walk!!!" zapp! *queue maniacal laughter*

Master of puppets for Necros,
Load for Rangers,
Mesmers get the black album with the skill with no name...

Yes, we know that
Is just strange how there's that new skill, then there's Orion the Henchmen we're just saying that if there's one more reference to Metallica, then we can believe someone at Anet is a fan :P

Orion.
Metallica doesn't have to be the source of everything. In fact, I seriously doubt there're any intentional references in the entire game to them.
